The Valentine Bee (1986)

     I was having a conversation with my sketching prodigy friend Nicole and she'd mentioned that she was loving her writing class.. I told her I'd never taken a class.. That I've always just simply wrote down what ever popped in my head.
     This of course popped a poem in my head. In fact, it was the very first thing I'd ever written. I was 4 or 5 when I wrote it. I t was written in 1985, but I don't remember the month it was written.
     Anyway, I figured I'd share it with you guys. Yes yes I was absolutely adorable at that age >^.^<

The Valentine Bee

age 4 or 5 

I once had a friend,

Who was a bee.

He became my friend,

While I sat under a tree.

Buzzing around me,

Under the tree,

I wondered, 

"What should I name you little bee?"

As I looked closer,

I could see

A heart shaped design.

A heart indeed!

Valentine Bee!

Is the name I gave.

Valentine Bee

Would not go away!

The sun is setting

And now I must go.

Goodbye Valentine Bee

Until tomorrow!

It's not the greatest poem every written and I'm honestly surprised I still remember it.. I wonder what ever happened to that toy? lol
